What is Premature Ejaculation?
Indeed, what is considered premature ejaculation? After all, for someone an hour is not enough, as for many, three minutes is limit. In medical literature, you can find several different definition of what premature ejaculation is.
For example, in 1943 Schapiro B. proposed to divide PE (premature ejaculation) into:
- primary – when PE happens during the first 30 seconds – 2 minutes at each or almost every sexual intercourse, and from the very beginning of sexual activity.;
- secondary (acquired) – when PE occurs after several years of normal sexual activity.
As a rule, premature ejaculation can be associated with the following reasons:
- psychological problems (in this case, one partner is normal, on the other – nothing happens);
- erectile disfunction;
- thyroid gland disorders, accompanied by increase in its function (according to “scientific” – hyperthyroidism);
- testosterone deficiency;
- medications or psychoactive substances intake that violate process of ejaculation (for example, marijuana).
In August 2007, the experts of the International Society for Sexual Medicine, on the basis of numerous observations generalization, agreed that premature ejaculation should be referred to “male sexual dysfunction, in which ejaculation occurs within the first minute of vaginal penetration, and inability to delay ejaculation during almost all cases, accompanied by such negative emotional reactions as stress, anxiety, frustration and avoidance of sexual relations. “
How Often do Men Have Problems with Premature Ejaculation?
Some time ago more than twelve thousand men from 18 to 70 years were interviewed in the USA, Germany and Italy, and it was found out that premature ejaculation is a problem of almost every fourth man! (More precisely, it occurs in 22.7% of men).
As it turned out, men who have problems with premature ejaculation, more often than others, complain about:
- erectile dysfunction;
- decreased sexual desire;
- orgasmic disorders.
In this case, only one out of ten addressed doctor, and those who tried to be treated, more than 90% are not satisfied with results of premature ejaculation treatment.
At what age Problems with Ejaculation Often Appear?
According to survey of large number (if more accurately – 12133) of men – in any. Only in the age category from 18 to 24, number of men suffering from PE is slightly decreased (according to “scientific” statistics).
Does Way of Living Affect Premature Ejaculation?
If you are doing sports (meaning ordinary physical education, not exhausting professional sports) only a few times a month or less, chances to have “fast sex” are increasing.
Hence there is the following relation: the less physical loading you do, the more fatty tissue you gain, and the more you weigh (meaning overweight), the worse is sexual function. Smokers are also at risk zone to gain PE.
